3 ml of milk/3 ml de leche

This was a big day for both Marcos. Marcos finally has the hang of breastfeeding as he sucked and swallowed 3 ml of milk. He was enjoying it so much and drank so much at once that he forgot to breathe which caused his blood oxygen to plummet. Aida was watching the monitor carefully and quickly pulled him off the tap as he coughed and sputtered until he could start breathing again.

But, not only Marcos had a big day…Aida had a big day too! She successfully parallel parked, but not without experiencing a similar oxygen desaturation moment to Marcos. This happened half way through her parking lesson with Winnipeg’s best driver instructor. The cause of desaturation was also too much of a good thing, this time being an excessive amount of helpful information.


Hoy fue un gran día para Marcos. Por fin pudo succionar 3 ml. de leche y lo estaba disfrutando tanto que en un momento se le olvido seguir respirando, por lo que su oxigeno bajo bastante. Aída estaba observando el monitor detenidamente y rápidamente quitó a Marcos del pecho y lo levanto para que tosiera y volviera a respirar.
Pero no sólo fue un gran día para Marcos… ¡Aída tuvo un buen día también! Hoy pudo parquear lateralmente, pero no sin experimentar algo parecido a lo que le sucede a Marcos cuando se queda sin oxigeno. Esto sucedió a la mitad de su clase de parqueo, con el mejor instructor de manejo en todo Winnipeg. La causa de la baja de oxigeno se debió en gran parte a algo bueno, que en este caso fue exceso de información valiosa.
