A special thanks to all of you who helped pull little Marcos through a very difficult day. Last night when I went to bed, I envisioned thousands of hands underneath his tiny body holding him up. The combination of your prayers and thoughts, God's guiding hands, and talented medical staff was what made this day a very special one for us.
Marcos went into surgery already at 12:00 noon as his condition was stable. The doctor brought us the good news at 2:00 pm that Marcos had made it through the operation without major complications and that the next 24 hours were critical for his recovery. Rudy and Mo (good friends from Winnipeg) were with us at the time the doctor arrived, and Adam (our pastor) had just stepped out the door a moment before. Interestingly, the doctor explained the results of the surgery in Spanish, so nobody but ourselves could understand it. Hearing the news, Aida and I immediately hugged each other with tears, and for a moment Rudy and Mo thought the outcome was not good, until they realized our tears were tears of joy!
At 3:30 we saw Marcos motionless in his little bed with his cool shades covering his eyes. According to the doctor, his condition was already better than prior to the surgey. I saw him at 10 pm, just before coming back home, and his little tongue was gently moving against the air tube running to his lungs, a sign that he was relaxed.
Aida and I received a lot of support today via phonecalls, emails, food drop-offs and the special prayer chain initiated by Tricia that many of you participated in. Thanks so much for this. You don't know what this means to us.
Aida is doing well. She is still being closely monitored for high blood pressure, and not surprisingly, it is bouncing around a bit. She will be in the hospital until this is under control. If you want to talk to us, feel free to call us on our cell at 997-9330 which is at Aida's bedside.

Un agradecimiento especial para todos ustedes que han ayudado a Marcos durante este dia dificil. Anoche cuando me acoste, imaginaba un mil de manos sosteniendo su pequenito cuerpocito. Tus oraciones, la intervencion de Dios, y el buen trabajo de los medicos fueron los ingredientes por un dia tan maravilloso para nosotros.
Marcos entro a cirugia ya al medio dia porque su condicion fue estable. El doctor nos trajo la buena noticia a las 2 de la tarde que Marcos paso por la operacion sin muchas complicaciones y que las proximas 24 horas fueron criticas por su recuperacion. Rudy y Mo (amigos cercanos) estuvieron con nosotros durant la visita del doctor, y nuestro Pastor Canadiense, Adam, habia salido un ratito antes la llegada del doctor. Lo interesante es que el doctor (un Argentino) nos explico en espanol los resultados de la cirugia, y por eso nadie mas que nosotros podiamos entender. Al escuchar la noticia, Aida y yo nos abrasamos con lagrimas, y por un momento, Rudy y Mo pensaron que el resultado no fue positivo, hasta que se dieron cuenta que eran lagrimas de alegria!
A las 3:30 de la tarde, vimos a Marcos acostado en su camita con unas gafas chistosas cubriendo sus hojos. Segun el doctor, su condicion fue mucho mejor ya que antes la cirugia. A las 10 de la noche, antes de venirme a la casa, vi su lengua pequena chupando el tubito pasando su boca a sus polmones, un senal que estaba relejado.
Aida y yo recibimos mucho apoyo hoy por llamadas, correos, comida y la cadena de oracion que Tricia formo, la cual que varios de ustedes participaron. Mil gracias por eso! No saben el significado de todo eso por nosotros.
Aida esta mucho mejor. Se esta monitoriendola mucho por la presion alta, y sin sopresa, las niveles estan cambiando mucho. Estara en el hospital hasta que esta en control. Si quieren llamarnos, pueden llamar al celular (997-9330) que esta a lado la cama de Aida.
