Today Marcos pooped what appears to be the last of the barium and the first of mom’s breast milk. It was a very slow trip through the winding intestinal tract, and likely caused a lot of discomfort. Apparently the barium was so impressively stiff and large, that the nurses from the other rooms came for a look. They couldn’t quite believe that something so large could come from such a small baby. Having the barium out of the system is more assurance that the passageway is clear. Today they doubled the milk feeding (via a tube into the stomach) for Marcos. Every 2 hours he receives 1.5 ml of breast milk which will continually increase in quantity if he can handle it.
Hoy Marcos hizo caca de lo que pareció ser lo que quedaba en su sistema del “barium” enema y la primera leche materna que había recibido. Eso fue un viaje muy lento y doloroso por todo el sistema intestinal. Parece que el “barium” enema que salio estaba bien duro y grande, lo que provoco que varias enfermeras se reunieran para ver que algo tan grande había salido de un bebé tan pequeño. Con el hecho que el “barium” ya salio del sistema intestinal de Marcos, es mas seguro que no hay nada bloqueándolo. Hoy también aumentaron la dosis de leche materna que Marcos esta recibiendo, así cada 2 horas van a darle 1.5 ml, dosis que irá aumentando en la medida en que él pueda manejarlo.
